Jorge Morales, Bally Acting Director for Latin America, granted an interview to Yogonet.com before SAGSE Panama.
What will Bally showcase during the SAGSE Panama show? What are your expectations for this show?
We will feature some our latest innovations in Panama. From our games portfolio we are very excited to showcase games such the award-winning Cash Spin and Vegas Hits, which are part of our SpinNation series of wheel-spinning games. With Cash Spin, we are currently experiencing between two to four times above house average with the initial deployments. From our Digital Tower Series we will be showing Fireball and 77777 Jackpot. Fireball has also been performing exceptionally well in a number of regions, and we expect it to do well in this region.
Bally is launching its next generation of cutting-edge video cabinets to address our customers’ feedback. These new cabinets were reinvented from top to bottom based on extensive casino operator research. They will deliver HD surround-sound and exceptional graphical animations that will take our video portfolio to the next level. In Panama, we will showcase our new Pro Series Slant video cabinet, which completes the initial phase of our scheduled launch of new video cabinets.
On the systems side we are proud to be exhibiting our best-in-class systems technology in Panama. We will have live demonstrations of Bally Business Intelligence technology suite, Bally Command Center and CoolSign.
We feel confident about our product portfolio and we believe that we have chosen the right mix of games and systems products which will take our customers in this region to new levels of profitability and success.
What are the main characteristics of the products you will be showing?
The unique Cash Spin game features our U-Spin gesture-control technology. The U-Spin feature allows players to actually spin the wheel on the touch-enabled screen, providing a new level of player interaction. The Vegas Hits video slot also utilizes Bally’s groundbreaking U-Spin technology. Vegas Hits draws attention thanks to its distinctive double-stacked spinning-wheel video top box. The dramatically exciting Fireball and 77777 Jackpot games feature towering digital-top boxes, vivid animations, surround-sound audio, and thrilling game play.
The brand new Pro Series Slant video cabinet stands out for its unique configuration of a 26-inch, high-definition video display on top of a 22-inch high-def video display. This cabinet features a modern and attractive design and provides players with a new level of comfort and playability. The video display and armrests are slanted at the ideal angles to maximize players’ time on the device.
Bally Business Intelligence is a powerful technology suite that dramatically improves a casino operator’s data-analysis capability. Bally Command Center is a server-based solution that allows casino operators to view, examine, and manage their games and other G2S devices. Bally CoolSign turns any screen in a casino into a versatile, dynamic, and interactive communication channel.
What is Bally’s primary objective for this show and for the rest of the year?
Our primary objective is to obtain a positive response from our customers towards our extensive product portfolio and convert those positive impressions into potential sale agreements. We want our customers to know that we are committed to improve and to develop the innovations they need to succeed. As for the rest of the year, we must continue being smart about the way we run our business, controlling spending and investing wisely in key markets and in R&D to secure medium to long-term growth and financial stability.
What other shows will Bally be attending in 2010?
Outside of North America we plan to exhibit our latest products at the Peruvian Gaming Show, G2E Asia, Australasian Gaming Expo, SAGSE Argentina, and the ENADA show in Rome.
Which markets is Bally focusing on?
We see a great deal of potential in Italy’s VLT market, where we have already entered into commercial agreements with several customers. Mexico is another area where we see many growth opportunities as the country has allowed the commercialization of Class III games, which is something extremely favorable for Bally and our extensive Class III product offerings.
Does Bally plan to launch new products in the upcoming months?
Bally is constantly launching new products and our goal is to increase our core video portfolio by 100 percent in 2010. We will remain at the forefront of innovation, continually expanding our games portfolio and systems product line to ensure that we have a vast array of technology available for all of our customers worldwide.
