(Panama).- For some people, altough the Panamanians have the right to play, the casinos should be meant to customers and tourists with good purchasing power. "So far this year, about four casinos have been allowed to operate in the Panamanian market,” said the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), an entity which contributions to the State respond to these premises.

To these four casinos that could be open this year, could join them three others that are seeking for approval. According to authorities, the new casinos that are allowed to enter, if they finnaly operates, would generate to the state an estimated income of US$ 4 million a year.

Currently, there are 15 casinos operating in Panama. These, in turn, contributed US$ 4,348,265 during the first quarter of this year, money that the state receives through the Gaming Control Board, representing 12.5% ​​of gross monthly income.

Along with this, Salomón Shaman, Panamanian Minister of Tourism, said casinos must attract wealth from abroad, for example, with tourists that arrive more often to the country to play.
