How has online gaming evolved since Betware got to the industry?
Betware is a pioneer in the gaming market, being the first company to launch online betting for Icelandic Soccer Pools, back in 1996. Since then the company has focused its development on designing and delivering solutions for operators within regulated jurisdictions for the Internet and Mobile channels. Over the years the gaming market has been growing heavily with new operators and vendors coming into the pot, following the changes in gaming regulations across the globe. The end of many national gaming monopolies has triggered new developments on the market and the spread of gaming brands being introduced to the Internet world. A growing competition among gaming operators influenced the development of new solutions and strategies so crucial for player retention. Betware’s goal has always been to partner with customers for continuous innovation and market expansion to provide a permanent stream of improvements, new features and fresh products. Betware continues to carry out intensive market research to provide its customers with most innovative solutions to ensure their competitiveness in the changing gaming market.
What products do you have to offer? Do you offer products B2C or your business is merely B2B?
Betware’s core product is the Betware’s Gaming Platform which is a “heart” of the entire system for gaming operations regardless of games, services or sales channels are offered to the players. Our core business is B2B offering top notch solutions for gaming operators, however we research the behavior and expectations of the end user – “the player” – in order to provide our customers with products and solutions that are best fitted to fulfill their players’ expectations and increase player retention.
What are the main benefits of your Gaming Platform?
Betware’s Gaming Platform is a robust, flexible and secure wagering engine with player administration and management support. It is the most efficient tool for any gaming operator to establish a solid online or mobile presence. It covers the whole spectrum of online money gaming sector from back end to player gaming experience, offering an unparallel level of security and flexibility. The liberalization of gaming markets and changing competition, make it crucial for operators to offer the games and services best fitted to expectations of the players within their country/region. The flexibility of the Betware Gaming Platform and multi sourcing strategy offered by Betware, guarantee the freedom to offer top notch products from the vendors of operator’s choice. As the best games and most entertaining products rarely come from a single vendor the freedom of choice can be perceived as an “underwriter” of the operator’s market success.
The gaming platform designed by Betware offers operators one Player Account which interacts with all the games the operator has to offer. It also has the capability to fully support responsible gaming policies (so crucial especially for casino games operators) and offers access to various marketing tools allowing to add great value to regular marketing campaigns.
What are your expectations about the new regulated Spanish market? What are your plans for this country?
Our main strength in the Spanish market is our experience – we are present on this market since 2007 working with the national lottery (LAE) thus gaining excellent knowledge of all the state regulatory requirements. Betware believes that the current changes of the gaming law and new regulations being introduced in Spain are a very positive step forward, which will impact not only the Spanish gaming environment but probably also the Spanish economy by generating additional business opportunities on the market. It can be expected that with many individual companies applying for a license the market will become very competitive with a flurry of new ventures. The growing competition will result in only the most advanced solutions and entertaining games being able to ensure a true market success and player retention. For Betware it will be very interesting to be involved on the development of this new market. Betware’s a unique offering created with the new Spanish regulations in mind, should be a strong driver to our further success. We anticipate a “battle” between marketing budgets and so the operators will shop around for vendors which are able to implement flexible solutions that at the same time guarantee all regulatory requirements are completed.
BMM Spain has certified your CRS . What does this represent for the company?
The Betware’s Gaming Platform with a Regulatory Vault has been verified and audited by BMM International and has passed all the necessary tests to receive a certification for the application process of general licenses in Spain. These tests are part of the new gaming regulation introduced in Spain, and are a mandatory requirement for each gaming operator applying for a license. The audit done by BMM has recognized Betware as a proper partner for any gaming operator looking to establish its online presence in Spain following the new regulations. For Betware it is yet another proof of the strength of its solution and the leading quality of its products which are designed to fulfill any requirements a potential customer may have. The Regulator Vault offered as part of the Betware’s Gaming Platform is a unique offering on the market, creating a complete package which allows operators to focus purely on their strengths and marketing of the gaming site.
You have signed deals with Cirsa and EGASA. What can you tell us about these partnerships? Do you have plans for the Latin American market?
Following the liberalization of gaming markets across Europe, in particular in Spain, Betware’s target group of operators has grown from mainly lotteries to all gaming operators including land – based casinos seeking a gaming license in their jurisdiction. Betware therefore increased its focus to offering solutions to private market operators and gained substantial success in 2011/2012 by adding CIRSA and Grupo EGASA to company’s portfolio of customers. The agreements with CIRSA and EGASA are a step forward towards strengthening Betware’s image as the best gaming platform provider.
Following this success Betware has focused on introducing a multi sourcing strategy to operators looking into building their online presence and applying for gaming licenses. This strategy enables operators to choose best of breed game and service vendors thus building and customizing their online offering to best suit their players. The operators are therefore not locked in with one game vendor and limited to games that this particular vendor offers. Moreover to consummate the requirements of the Spanish regulator for online gaming, Betware has decided to include a Regulatory Vault into its offering. It is a key element for any operator applying for a new gaming license in Spain. This offering has been met with great interest on the Spanish market winning Betware the above mentioned contracts and the company’s objective is to introduce the multi sourcing strategy and Betware’s gaming Platform with Regulatory Vault further on the LatAm market, building its strength on top of the Spanish success.
What are your objectives for the coming months?
Betware’s main objective is to fully support its new and existing customers and ensure their growing market position and player retention. We would like to introduce our multi sourcing strategy to new operators applying for gaming licenses in any jurisdiction as we believe in it being the best fitted solution. With that objective in mind we plan to travel throughout the year to all major gaming events promoting our solution and multi sourcing strategy. At the same time our research teams are continuously working on new improvements to ensure our products remain most innovative on the market.
