What can you tell us about your presence in SAGSE Panama together with your Argentine subsidiary Octavian?
SAGSE Panama is an important meeting place for the local gaming industry and offers great opportunities to further strengthen the Novomatic presence in the region, to establish new contacts and to meet existing partners and customers. The 2012 show proved to be a good show for the participating Novomatic Group companies. As it turned out, the first day was excellent in terms of new contacts and visitor traffic, whereas on the second day the show’s attendance seemed to somewhat fade out. Nonetheless, we were satisfied with the show results.
How are the products that you have already installed in Panamanian casinos performing?
Novomatic products are already firmly established in Panama’s gaming market and the reports from the local operators and Novomatic customers regarding the machines’ performance are excellent.
What opportunities does Panama offer to OEMs?
Panama has evolved quite quickly as a market for the international gaming industry and the signs are clear that it will continue to do so as operators and their guests become aware of the latest product innovations and attractions. In this regard, of course, SAGSE Panama played an important role by giving OEMs the platform to show products and to meet directly with operators.
In your opinion, how will this country’s gaming arena evolve?
This question can be directly related to the previous one! When a market is as vibrant and exciting as Panama then the possibilities are endless. Panama’s future evolution will thus be dictated by those operators who have the vision to continue to upscale the offerings that they make to their guests.
Are you planning to return to SAGSE Panama 2013?
Novomatic is, as we have already mentioned, a solid presence in Panama and will continue to be so: for 2013 and beyond. Regarding the SAGSE Panama exhibition we will, following the 2012 edition, do – as we always do – a thorough review and make our decisions based on the results of that. What we can say for right now is that we were satisfied with SAGSE Panama 2012 and that will figure into our future decisions.
