(Macau).- Wells Fargo and Sterne Agee analysts have different estimates for April’s full-month gross gaming revenue. While Wells Fargo senior analyst Cameron McKnight forecasts growth will be between 13 and 15 % year-on-year, Sterne Agee’s David Bain says it will be around just 8%.

(Macau).- The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau has released its Macau casino figures for the first quarter of 2013, revealing a 14.8% increase in gross gaming revenue to us$ 10.66 billion compared to the same quarter in 2012.

(Macau).- Ratings agency Fitch says it is “likely” that new markets in Asia “will liberalise gaming laws over the next decade”. In a report issued this week, Fitch says that Singapore’s recent success in legalising gambling “has prompted Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Cambodia and others to consider expanding or setting-up casinos”.

(Nepal).- Nepal’s Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) would start a process to scrap casino operating licenses of the country’s five-star hotels that failed to pay taxes and fees by the deadline set by the government, said Ranjan Krishna Aryal with the legal division of MoCTCA.
