(UK).- Paddy Power has won its appeal over an east London council's refusal to allow it to open a betting shop in the area. The company is in dispute with Newham Council, which had rejected its licence application for a new shop in East Ham. There are about 80 betting shops in Newham, the third highest number in any London borough.

(UK).- Veteran industry journalist David Snook and Intergame publisher Christine Butterworth were the guests of the ICE Totally Gaming team when they spoke at the annual ICE Strategy and Think Tank Meeting held recently. The meeting, which this year was staged at The Hippodrome Casino in London’s Leicester Square, was used to review the most recent edition of ICE and to plan the theme and messaging for 2014.
