Malta regulator to offer a webinar on AML and CFT in online gaming

During “AML/CFT in the remote gaming sector – trends, typologies and common findings,”  MGA officials will be discussing common AML/CFT shortcomings in the remote gaming sector and the emerging ML/TF threats and typologies in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic and Digital ID methods.

The Malta Gaming Authority AML/CFT (anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism) team will be organizing a webinar entitled “AML/CFT in the remote gaming sector – trends, typologies and common findings.” 

During this webinar, the MGA’s AML/CFT officials will be discussing common AML/CFT shortcomings in the remote gaming sector and the emerging ML/TF threats and typologies in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic and Digital ID methods.

The webinar will be held June 26 at 14:00 (GMT +2). Specific agenda items include AML/CFT emerging trends and typologies; the impact of Covid-19 on remote gaming; main findings and shortcomings under the Maltese AML/CFT regulations; Q&A session with the FIAU (Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit) and MGA representatives.
