Delta Corp Limited resumed its casino operations in the Indian state of Sikkim on Tuesday, July 6. However, the casinos operated by the company and its subsidiaries in Goa will remain closed until July 12.
The casino operations of the company and its subsidiaries have been impacted in Sikkim and Goa ever since the second wave of Covid-19 hit these states and lockdown was imposed to contain its spread.
“The Government of Sikkim has allowed reopening of the casinos in the State subject to the safety norms being followed. Further, the company and/or its subsidiary operating the Casino in the state of Sikkim will resume its operations from July 06, 2021, and will follow all the safety norms laid down by the state in this regard,” the company said in a filing on Monday, reports India Infoline.
“Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases being witnessed in Goa, the Government of Goa inter-alia has extended the restrictions in the state respectively till July 12, 2021. Accordingly, the casinos operated by the Company and its subsidiaries in Goa will remain closed during this period. We are unable to estimate the quantum of potential losses on account of this temporary closure and the pandemic at this time,” it added.
Delta Corp Ltd ended at Rs195.20 (USD $2.63) per piece up by Rs7.6(USD $0.10) or 4.05% from its previous closing of Rs187.60 (USD $2.52) per piece on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
