"The decisive factors for this decision are firstly related to the evolution of vaccines against COVID-19 since vaccination in Peru has not reached the number of doses necessary to guarantee the concentration of a significant number of people in an event like the one we are used to having in a PGS fair," the organizers highlighted in an official statement released on Tuesday.
"On second place is the political instability generated by the election of a new government. Additionally, the possibility of a third wave of COVID-19 with the Delta variant, which could occur between August and September is something that would jeopardize the development of the event," they added.
"AMG SAC, in all PGS editions, has paid the utmost care to details, to guarantee an excellent presentation for the benefit of exhibitors, operators, and visitors. Due to these reasons, the change of date is very timely and will guarantee a first-class fair as usual. Therefore, December 1 and 2 will be dates for better and freer articulation between the industry players, taking into account that due to the vaccination levels in that period we would be in an environment defined as herd immunity."
"Moreover, for those dates, the policies and decisions of the government will have a defined horizon that would guarantee the economic and social stability of the country. Within this context, we want to thank all the players in the sector for their support and trust in PGS, the most anticipated fair in Latin America, which returns with all its splendor to bring together bidders, applicants, and the general public under one single roof, for the great reunion, and enjoy a beautiful gaming party. The time will come for the customary contact, networking, shaking hands", the company led by Joe López and Rubén Solorzano stated.
"The best showcase in the region to do business with says we are present, we are here," members of the organization concluded.
