Bristol Associates, Inc. and Spectrum Gaming Group have launched their 21st Annual Casino Gaming Executive Satisfaction Survey.
The annual survey aims at being “a critical benchmark tool for the US gaming industry” and is designed to help the sector attract, retain and motivate its executive talent by providing insight on “executives’ overall attitudes and preferences” towards their workplace and the industry.
The survey launched Wednesday, and can be taken online. It’s being conducted by nationwide executive search firm Bristol Associates and Spectrum Gaming Group, a global non-partisan research and analysis agency.
“This survey has evolved over 21 years to become a reliable resource for industry operators, guiding them through challenging periods, which certainly includes the current gaming environment,” said Spectrum Gaming Managing Director Michael Pollock.
"The survey is an important touchstone for executives and managers who seek to ensure they are attracting, retaining and motivating the best talent during these most challenging times,” further added Pollock.
The 2021 edition includes questions focusing on work-life balance and work-at-home options, which aim to help the industry as the Covid-19 pandemic remains a key factor within the gaming sector. It takes about 10 minutes to complete, and feedback and suggestions received during last year’s survey were taken into account.
A sample of questions analyzed in the survey results include: "Which casino companies do executives want to work for? How do executives quantify overall work satisfaction? What factor is the highest priority when executives choose their employer?" All individual responses are kept confidential.
“Our Casino Gaming Executive Satisfaction survey continues to be the most compelling tool four our network of industry contacts,” said Ben Farber, President of Bristol Associates. “The information revealed is timely and relevant for all gaming jurisdictions, operations and platforms including commercial, mobile/online and Native American.”
The 2020 edition of the study found that casino executive respondents remarkably remained satisfied and optimistic despite setbacks faced throughout 2020, proving the industry's resilience. Diversity and inclusion in the workplace were found valued topics within the industry, despite room for improvement in diverse representation amongst executive leadership.
“A new digital norm also developed, whereby peers from competing operators shared tips on how to implement best practices and move forward as safely as possible,” also concluded last year’s study. “As a result, the majority of casino executives remained satisfied and optimistic through 2020.”
