The company has been recognized in the GGB annual awards with a Silver Award for its new PanOptic Kiosk, which offers an intuitive and frictionless checkout process. Assisted by computer vision and AI, it enables faster guest service and assures customers they are protected.

Agilysys has been recognized in the Global Gaming Business Magazine’s Annual Gaming & Technology Awards. The software developer won the Silver Award for Guest Health & Safety Product for its new PanOptic Kiosk, announced the company on Monday.

The GGB Gaming & Technology Awards recognize technology, products and services that enhance the gaming experience within the casino industry. The honors aim at encouraging innovation and technology amidst the rapidly changing casino ecosystem.

“We are pleased to recognize Agilysys as a 2021 GGB Gaming & Technology Awards winner,” said Roger Gros, Publisher at GGB Magazine. “It is clear that the company’s technology innovations have contributed to their customers’ success.”

The provider of hospitality software solutions and services has developed the PanOptic Kiosk to offer “an intuitive and frictionless” checkout process, which enables faster guest service and increased revenue opportunities.

The Best Guest Health & Safety Product Awards recognized the solution as having met the challenge of assuring customers they are protected. As casinos reopen following the Covid-19 shutdown, a new generation of products has been developed for the industry, including plexiglas partitions, temperature devices, technology that shuts down adjacent slot machines, and more.

“It is a great honor to receive the prestigious GGB Silver Award for Best Guest Health & Safety Product,” said Dr. Prabuddha Biswas, CTO at Agilysys. “In today’s labor-constrained hospitality environments, the Agilysys PanOptic kiosk helps operators to drive more volume through food checkout lines while maintaining or reducing the number of checkout staff required.”

The kiosk is a “prime example” of frictionless guest self-service checkout for grab-n-go stores, cafeterias and other outlets where packaged items are offered. Available in the fall of 2021, the AI-powered solution allows guests to simply place multiple food items on the kiosk tray all at one time. As soon as they are placed, computer vision and AI scans and recognizes them, and then initiates a new shopping cart to which the items are automatically added.

“Agilysys continues to drive industry-leading gaming solution innovation with the PanOptic kiosk and more for operators of all types,” further said Biswas. “The result is faster guest service, increased revenue and optimized venue operations.”

One of the main features of the PanOptic kiosk is that it can simultaneously identify multiple items at once, instead of having to individually scan each one. The guest can also seamlessly add or remove them to the cart without using the kiosk user interface. It is also smart enough to recognize foreign items, such as wallets or phones, placed on the tray along with the valid store items, and then takes the appropriate action.

The total bill is calculated based on the respective prices of the identified objects, and the guest can easily checkout the items using payment methods supported by the property. These include credit cards, contactless NFC payments, gaming loyalty cards, or employee/student accounts.
