The advertisements can be used by certified, state-licensed entities in the state who intend to promote sports betting, online casinos and daily fantasy sports, having previously applied for a certification to qualify before the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection.

Google announced Thursday, October 7, that certified, state-licensed entities in Connecticut can now use Google Ads to advertise for sports betting, online casinos and daily fantasy sports.

Advertisers must apply for a certification to qualify. In accordance with the press release issued by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection with their revised timelines, application for certification opened to advertisers who wish to promote online gambling content in this region on Tuesday, October 12.

After the original timeline to launch statewide sports betting in Connecticut on October 7 was pushed back due to federal delays, the DCP announced Friday that a seven-day soft launch of online sports betting and gaming will begin on Tuesday.

In India, gambling ads have been allowed as well. Google permits the promotion of Daily Fantasy Sports as long as the advertisement does not promote other forms of online gambling, and does not target Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, Nagaland, ODisha, Sikkim and Telangana. However, Google does not allow the promotion of any online casino games with the exception of Rummy.
