What do you expect from this edition of ICE?
ICE is always a very exciting show and one that JCM looks forward to participating in each year. One of the reasons this show is so exciting is the large amount of new and innovative products and systems suppliers large and small unveil at the show, and we expect to see a wide range of creativity and innovation throughout the show. That certainly is the case on our stand, where JCM will show our new TableXchange Plus, a secure, scalable, and easy-to-install intelligent drop box solution for live table game operations.
Based on JCM’s award-winning bill validation and printing technologies, TableXchange Plus reduces the threat of counterfeit currency being accepted at live tables, and an optional TITO module allows casinos to extend existing slot TITO. TableXchange Plus enhances cash management security by accurately tracking cash from table buy in through to the count room and provides an accurate, consolidated view of cash drop for all table games, by hour and gaming day.
What products will you be showcasing?
At ICE JCM marks 60 years of creating innovative and industry-leading products that have revolutionized the gaming industry and created new global standards, and we will have a portfolio on our stand that lives up to that tradition. Leading our show is the new TableXchange Plus. Additionally, we will show our line of award-winning bill validators.
To date, we have supplied more than 2.14 million gaming bill validation units for the gaming industry around the globe, and we will be showing the iVIZION, iPRO, Vega, TBV, and EBA-40. Of particular interest for UK-based AWP operators attending ICE are our iPRO-RC and Vega-RC Twin, both of which are equipped with recycling modules. We will also show advanced and award-winning printing options, including GEN2, GEN2 Universal, and CouponXpress, a desktop TITO and coupon printer. Last, our system solutions include the award-winning Intelligent Cash Box (ICB) and the post-production TITO solution Ticket2Go.
What will be the key trends in the gambling arena in 2016?
That’s an interesting question, and one that will surely be answered within minutes of the doors opening at ICE. In our corner of the industry, we believe further increasing efficiencies and security will be a trend in markets around the world, both in gaming and in the other industries JCM serves, and we are ahead of this trend with new hardware and software solutions, such as the TableXchange Plus and a new software download system we will unveil in the first part of 2016.
Will start-ups and small companies be able to survive the wave of industry mega-mergers?
One of the exciting aspects of the gaming industry is its willingness to take risks. Risk, after all, is at the very center of the industry. And if start-ups and smaller operators are innovative, creative, and service-driven, then they should be able to expect that companies will be willing to take a risk on their products or services.
The gaming industry is going through deep changes. Why is it so important to come about with new legislation?
We will leave regulation and legislation to the regulators and lawyers; however, we will say that JCM is very proud of our long history of successfully operating in gaming and in banking – two of the most regulated industries on the planet.
What are JCM's business goals both in the short and long term? Are millennials one of your target demographics?
Our customers’ goals are our goals. That has been JCM’s philosophy since 1955, and as we celebrate our 60th anniversary, that philosophy continues to guide us today. So, if getting the attention of millennials is important to our customers, then it is important to us, and we are ahead of the development curve in this area, with mobile payment technologies and other products and systems that will help our operator partners serve this business segment.
