Current owners of the development Cerbus Capital Management want out of the complex that was purchased along with a raft of national loans accumulating to £680 million.
Star City was opened in 2000 by film stars George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg and covers some 400,000 sq ft and includes a cinema, Tenpin bowling alley, Genting casino, Twin Peaks indoor climbing centre, gym and other retail outlets.
Cerbus Capital Management could be taking a loss on the deal as it is believed to have acquired the complex for £85 million back in 2006, but those who have followed the leisure complex say that it has many problems and some even fear it could be demolished and used for other purposes.
