St. Croix Casino Hertel opens in Wisconsin

St. Croix Tribal Inter-governmental Affairs Representative Michael Decorah said the goal for the casino complex is to accommodate travelers and tourists.

The gaming facility includes a full-service truckers’ suite providing lounge-type seating, a gas station, a convenience store a new diesel truckers’ fill area with additional parking for truckers and a smoke shop with a drive-up window and walk-in humidor.

During the opening ceremony, St. Croix Tribal Vice Chairman Crystal Peterson performed the actual ribbon cutting accompanied by Chairman Taylor.

 “I think this new facility will meet that goal very well," said Tribal representative Micahel Decorah.

In attendance to the event were the St. Croix Tribal Council, National Indian Gaming Association Chairman (NIGA) Ernest Stevens, Executive Director Scott Vele of the Midwest Alliance of Sovereign Tribes (MAST), Burnett County Board Chairman Donald Taylor, St. Croix Casinos CEO Leva (Dino) Oustigoff, Jr., members of the construction team and casino marketing staff as well as members of the public.
