The operators had been offering their services to local players without authorization, the Government said.
In July, the Government announced the first-ever blacklist of online gambling operators.
““Among the banned gambling domains were bet365, William Hill, Bwin, 888 Holdings, Bet-at-Home and 1xbet.
”
At that time, a special note had been issued to 17 online gambling operators, with ten of these companies seeing themselves suspended due to operating without permission from regulators. In addition, two other operators had decided to voluntarily pull out of Slovakia’s gaming market.
Now, the list of “untrustworthy and unacceptable” operators has grown to 16 companies, with six new operators added by the Government.
Local media reports say authorities will urge the blocked operators to shut down their websites within 10 days, before they get a court order. In case the online gaming firms do not follow the court order, they will be forced to pay a financial penalty that could cost up to €500,000.
