Upon return from the WPT European Championship in Germany in January 2018, the World Poker Tour heads to Hollywood, Florida, for the first of two stops at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on the Season XVI schedule. The WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open returns to the World Poker Tour and will take place January 19-24.
The tournament is part of a joint festival at Seminole Hard Rock with WPTDeepStacks, which will put on the WPTDeepStacks Hollywood Main Event on January 11-15.
New Confirmed events for Season XVI of WPT
Following the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open, the World Poker Tour heads to Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey, for the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open. This $3,500 buy-in event produced last season’s WPT Tournament of Champions winner, Daniel Weinman, and takes place January 28-February 2 in Season XVI.
The Season XVI WPT Fallsview Poker Classic is next up and will look to improve upon its Season XV record-setting turnout, as the World Poker Tour returns to Canada for the second time in the season from February 10-12*. This C$5,000 buy-in event takes place at Fallsview Casino Resort overlooking Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada.
At the end of February, the ever-popular WPT L.A. Poker Classic returns to Commerce Casino in Southern California, a charter member of the World Poker Tour. This marquee poker tournament takes place February 24-March 1 and features a $10,000 buy-in. Since Season II, the winner of the WPT L.A. Poker Classic has earned a seven-figure payday. The WPT L.A. Poker Classic will be filmed for television as part of the Season XVI WPT broadcast schedule.
The World Poker Tour then heads to Northern California for WPT Rolling Thunder from March 2-6. Thunder Valley Casino Resort, home of the Season 4 WPTDeepStacks Championship from December 2-5, once again hosts this $3,500 buy-in event that has become a player favorite for the past several seasons.
In April, the World Poker Tour returns to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for the second time in Season XVI. With a buy-in of $3,500, the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown takes place April 13-18 and will be filmed for television as part of the Season XVI WPT broadcast schedule. Last season’s Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown attracted 1,207 entries and saw Tony Sinishtaj walk away with more than $660,000 for the win.
