Macau gaming taxes reach USD 8.5B

Official figures also show that the casino gross gaming revenue (GGR) tally for the first nine months of this year was up 18.8% from the prior-year period.

The Financial Services Bureau of Macau has released data showing the government's take from direct taxes on gaming accounted for USD 8.54B, representing a 17.5%v increae year-on-year in the first nine months of the year.

Between January and September, the city collected USD 8.54 billion in fiscal revenues from direct taxes on gaming, bringing in 80.9 percent of the government's total revenue in the nine months to September 30.

Official figures also show that the casino gross gaming revenue (GGR) tally for the first nine months of this year was up 18.8 percent from the prior-year period (MOP 193.38 billion).

Meanwhile, GGRAsia reported that the government of Macau expects to collect MOP71.86 billion in direct taxes from gaming this year.
