In a statement released on December 14th, the National Committee on Gambling (CONAJZAR in Spanish) has announced that Daruma Sam won the tender bidding for the operation of sports betting to a national level as of December 13th onwards, in observance of Law 60/17.
The operator Jockey Club del Paraguay was disqualified and prohibitted from entering the tender after failing to submit substantial documentation in the form requested, according to the statement the regulating agency shared with Yogonet.
Forecasts anticipate a total return of USD 95,450,800 to the state after five years of exclusive operation of sports betting, which will amount to USD 1,590,850 in monthly revenue.
Operators YEM and Daruma, which were both part of the provisional sports betting system in place in Paraguay until the tender bidding until the tender bidding was resolved, are currently in litigation for the exploitation of the sports betting brand "Apostala"
