For the first half of 2018, the revenue collected by the Macau SAR Government from gaming tax increased by 18.9 percent year-on-year to MOP53.79 billion (US$6.65 billion), according to official data released by the Financial Services Bureau (DSF).
The latest information also reveals that the revenue of the Administration during the first six months under review amounted to some MOP64.37 billion, registering an increase of 14.6 percent, with the execution rate reaching 61.1 percent.
The government spent MOP33.85 billion during the period, a decrease of 2.6 percent from the same period last year.
In particular, expenses for the Public Investment Plan (PIDDA) amounted to 7.92 billion, posting an increase of 29.5 percent from the same period a year before.
During the first six months of 2018, the public surplus reached MOP30.52 billion, some 50.8 percent higher than the January-June period in 2017.
