Mississippi: Island View Casino opens sports book
Sports betting opened at the Island View at 10 a.m. on Thursday. Many people attended the historical event and were excited to take a gamble, WXXV5 reports.
Some casinos in Biloxi have already opened their sports books, allowing people to legally place bets for the upcoming football season.
Island View Business Development Executive Director John Carter says while there are other local casinos for sports fans to place bets he says Island View is the place to be. "We’ve got our two different casinos now, our smoking casino and our non-smoking casino. We did put a sports book in each one so we have the non-smoking where you never have to smell the smoke. You can go in, place your bets there, as well as over here, which we have right behind us, our larger sports book."
Carter says he believes having two sports books is going to be a game changer for the casino. He says he’s excited for the journey.
