Alan Burak, founder of GET in Global, confirmed that over 200 attendees took part in the GET in’s first event in the Dominican Republic. "We are thrilled to have hosted the first —but not last— GET in Punta Cana. Our goal is to become the major event in the Caribbean."
The event, which included training sessions, had the support of the Casino and Gaming Bureau (DCJA in Spanish) and the Dominican Republic Casino Association (ADCJ in Spanish).
The head of the Dominican Republic Casino Association delivered a speech on responsible gambling. He clarified that his country lacks a policy on this matter and, as a consequence, there are no statistics. That is why, he said he appreciated the opportunity offered by events such as GET in and used the occasion to share data and experiences of better-developed markets.
At the end of the last conference held during the day, Burak delivered a closing speech in which he shared with the attendees a few ideas on the gambling industry’s immediate future: "Today’s challenge is to adapt to technological changes and the effects they produce on the habits and decisions of players, and to keep traditional users as well as millennials interested."
"The key to achieving this goal is the simultaneous update of knowledge, investment, and regulations. GET in provides a sharing space where industry leaders can present, discuss, and redefine the future. The evolution is unstoppable and the single key to success is knowledge," he concluded.
The speeches are available on Facebook. The event was sponsored by IGT, Aristocrat, JCM, Golden Race, SuperBets, and Yogonet.
