Juan B. Pérez Hidalgo, President of Colombia's gambling regulatory body, announced that Coljuegos now offers, through its website, georeferenced data on 3,094 licensed land-based operators—including casinos and bingo halls, among others—located in 395 Colombian jurisdictions.
According to Pérez Hidalgo, with Coljuegos' tool, citizens will only need to know a venue's location in order to check whether it's licensed, and therefore, contributes to the country's health sector. Premises include casinos, bingo halls, betting shops with slot machines, roulette and poker tables, sportsbooks, and other retail shops whose main business is not gambling.
"We are plenty aware that, now-a-days, citizens make use of internet through their mobile phones as wells as GPS navegations systems and numerous multimedia apps that use geolocation. We decided to include this technology so as to contribute to responsible gambling, strategic corporate development and allow Colombians to place bets with licensed operators whose proceeds will finance the nation's health sector," Pérez Hidalgo assured.
Moreover, he pointed out that #MapaColjuegos can also help those interested in setting up their own gambling business to get to know the supply and demand of a certain area through georeferencing.
