Former Caesars executive named as Strat’s general manager and VP

Golden Entertainment announced last week the addition of gaming industry veteran Stephen Thayer, as vice president and general manager of The STRAT Hotel, Casino and SkyPod. The position was previously held by Chris Fiumara, who is now regional senior vice president of operations for Golden Entertainment.

In his new role, Fiumara will oversee operations and bring a strategic vision to Arizona Charlie’s Decatur and Arizona Charlie’s Boulder in Las Vegas, Pahrump Nugget Hotel & Casino, Gold Town Casino and Lakeside Casino & RV Park in Pahrump, Nevada and Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Flintstone, Maryland.

Thayer joins Golden Entertainment from Caesars Entertainment, where he has held various roles as director, vice president, and general manager for the company’s properties in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, N.J. since 2004. Thayer has returned to Las Vegas from Atlantic City, where he was vice president and general manager for Harrah’s Resort, to join Golden Entertainment.
