Colombian gaming authority opens bidding process to operate Súper Astro game

All of the information pertaining to the bidding process for the so-called Súper Astro game can now be accessed through Secop II, Colombia’s Electronic System for Public Procurement Platform under document No. LP-01-2019, on the following link.

According to Juan B. Pérez Hidalgo, president of the Colombian gaming authority (Coljuegos), the requirements that bidders must comply with can be found in the draft terms and conditions and bidding documents available for download on the Secop II platform, after registration. “If necessary, those interested in becoming bidders can access the instructions available on the platform,” he said.

Pursuant to the process’s schedule, a new operator will be selected before the end of the year. Details and dates regarding the bidding process can be found in the Aviso de Convocatoria (Invitation to Tender) document No. LP-01-2019, which can be accessed exclusively through the SECOP II platform. Any changes in the initial schedule will be communicated there.

It is worth noting that the operation of the Súper Astro game is governed by the rules approved by means of Agreement no. 3 of Coljuegos’ 2019 meeting of Board of Directors, available on the entity’s website.

"This game has won a substantial share in the gambling market and has generated significant economic resources for Colombia’s health sector," Pérez Hidalgo concluded.
