Continent 8 Technologies took part in the latest edition of SAGSE Buenos Aires, where the company's team got to take a closer look at the local market and think about business plans within the region.

In an exclusive interview with Yogonet, Mario Dealba, Account Director of Continent 8 said that one of the main goals of the company’s presence at SAGSE was to have a closer look at the regulatory processes taking place in Argentina, especially in the jurisdictions of Buenos Aires City, Buenos Aires Province, and Mendoza, among others. "We are specifically interested in the cybersecurity aspects of future regulations. We are also looking to explore and get to know which operators are interested in entering the market, and let them know we are ready to open our private global network to help the Argentine market."

When asked about the different regulatory schemes across the globe, Dealba explained that each jurisdiction is different in the sense that some aspects work in some regions and not in others, but what every legislation has in common is that "they all have direct contact with Continent 8 and that is what makes us so special. We work together with the technology teams of regulators throughout the world and we serve as free consultants in topics related to internet networks, cybersecurity, and hosting, among others," he added. "We hope that Argentine regulators are able to take advantage of our services and get to know the technologies used across the globe and decide which of them could be implemented within the region. We want to help the industry move forward in a transparent and efficient manner."

As regards the company’s presence in SAGSE, the executive highlighted that most of the attendees that visited their stand were not satisfied with their current services providers, mostly because of how slow the service was. "What makes us stand out from the competition is that we already have a Hub with different games on our network, through which users can gain direct access to those games. The computer is almost next to the games the company provides. We have more than 160 operators and suppliers. Being on our network guarantees our customers that game loading, sports betting, and everything else is much faster."

As regards the development of technological infrastructure here in Argentina, Continent 8’s Account Director explained that, although that is highly likely, it is also important to have the infrastructure in different countries so as to diversify risks. "In Continent 8, we have 50 locations worldwide. To operate in Argentina, we would probably need to have a server here or in Uruguay, as well as a back up in Canada. In this way, all risks would be covered, something that is very common within the technology area. "I think we will experience drastic changes once the market is regulated and people begin uploading inform on official, lab-certified sites, as our network would be."

The company’s representative said that their main goal for 2020 is to enter the Mexican, Colombian, Brazilian and Uruguayan markets. "In Q1, we aim to go live in Colombia and Mexico, possibly in Brazil; and also in Uruguay, where we are ready since July, we are only waiting for the regulation to be passed.", he concluded.
