The Venetian Las Vegas has released a list of protocols the resort will follow in response to the coronavirus pandemic once it reopens.
A spokesman for parent company Las Vegas Sands says more than 800 initiatives have been developed for COVID-19 in a policy called the "Venetian Clean Commitment." "When our doors re-open, guests can expect our hallmark Italian spirit and hospitality in a resort that is nothing short of Venetian Clean," Keith Salwoski said in a statement, as reported by KSNV.
Thermal cameras have been installed to check guests and employees at every resort entry point, according to the Venetian. Anyone with a temperature of at least 100.4 would be subject to a second screening and a potential medical assessment.
Around two-dozen emergency medical technicians will be on staff, and the team will be available 24 hours a day. Guests will be allowed to wear face masks and gloves in the property, though masks covering the entire face are still prohibited. Hotel guests will receive a personal mask, along with an amenity kit that includes sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and gloves.
In the casino, slot machines will be arranged to allow for social distancing, while table games will have a maximum of three chairs. The number of gondola passengers will be capped at four riders, and gondola pilots will wear facemasks.
The Venetian is not currently accepting any reservations, the company says, and employees will continue to receive full pay and benefits through May 17. "We will continue to assess this date as we have a more definitive opening timeline," Salwoski said.
