West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice Monday announced that gaming facilities could restart June 5, among a list of other additional businesses set to reopen over the next few weeks.
During his pandemic briefing on Monday, Gov. Justice said limited video lottery retailers can re-open Saturday, May 30, while casinos can reopen June 5.
West Virginia’s five licensed casinos are Hollywood Casino & Inn at Charles Town Races, Mardi Gras Casino & Resort at Nitro, Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack, Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort in Hancock County and The Greenbrier Resort, which is owned by Justice’s family.
Justice said state Lottery Director John Myers has been involved with the development of guidance.
