Wyoming casinos suspend reopening amid coronavirus safety concerns

CEO Brian Van Ekenvoort released a statement on Facebook explaining the company will be announcing a future reopening date "due to extenuating circumstances."

After an extended closure due to COVID-19, the Wind River Hotel & Casino and Little Wind Casino had planned to resume operations at noon Wednesday, July 22, but CEO Brian Van Ekenvoort announced late Tuesday that both casinos re-openings would be delayed.

In a message published to Facebook, Van Ekenvoort said: "Due to extenuating circumstances, the Wind River Hotel & Casino and Little Wind Casino are, regretfully, canceling our reopening until further notice."

"The safety of our customers and employees remains our number one concern," Van Ekenvoort added. "We will be announcing a future reopening date, and apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused to our most valued customer base."
