The former Spectacle Jack will now be known as Lucy Luck Gaming to end any confusion that it is tied to their former parent company, Spectacle Entertainment.
Greg Gibson, Lucy Luck Gaming Chairman, said he hopes the new name will end any confusion about the Terre Haute casino project.
“That spectacle name being associated with both projects, did cause some confusion. I look forward to expanding on the Lucy Luck brand,” he said. “I think it will be very helpful as we get this project started and move forward. We plan to use the brand to help keep the community abreast about what’s happening.”
Gibson noted that his company operates as a completely separate entity from Spectacle Entertainment; however Gibson is an investor in the Gary casino being built by Spectacle Entertainment.
The casino was orginally scheduled to break ground in Sept. 2020 but was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s mainly caused us an issue with putting together the financing. It caused some delays there. I think we’re over that hump and we’re in the process of getting that finalized. We hope to move the project forward soon,” he said.
Gibson said he hopes to announce a groundbreaking date in the coming weeks, and the Terre Haute casino is on track to open sometime in mid 2022.
“We look forward to bringing this state-of-the-art facility to Terre Haute. Our collaboration with Hard Rock International has expanded upon our vision to create economic opportunities for our region and state,” Gibson said. “We foresee this new brand taking this project to the next level.”
Lucy Luck Gaming is expected to bring economic development opportunities and 500 plus new jobs to the gaming industry and the West Central Indiana region.
Gibson’s two children, Jack and Lucy, are often the namesake of his various business endeavors.
He said he’s learned a lot throughout the process of opening a casino.
“I think it’s going to be a huge addition to Terre Haute’s economy. It’s been much more challenging than I expected it to be when I first got involved. It has been exciting and I look forward to getting this thing completed,” Gibson said.
Lucy Luck Gaming’s brand represents a timeless and classic look for the casino industry intertwined with contemporary elements. Its innovative business model is dedicated to bringing not only great entertainment to the regions it serves, but to give back to those communities through economic development opportunities.
“The Terre Haute community will be the first endeavor for the Lucy Luck Gaming brand,” Gibson noted. “The community has embraced and fought for this project, and we are certainly looking forward to bringing this project to fruition.”
