Following Thursday’s reopening, the casino will operate from 9 a.m. to 3 a.m., Sunday through Saturday, at a limited capacity. The Star will offer slots, table games, hotel, Choices Food Court, Juniper Steakhouse and the Sportsbook. The Star remains smoke-free throughout the property with a designated outdoor smoking area.
“We now feel confident that we have met the difficult challenge of creating a safe business environment while safeguarding the public trust we have worked hard to earn over the last three decades. Simply put, we want to do the right thing,” said TEI Chairwoman Melanie Martinez.
The Star’s CEO John Cirrincione further explains, “We are pleased that our staff is nearly fully vaccinated and we will continue a strict adherence to our prevention plan. We expect many of the safety restrictions to stay in place until the public health emergency is no longer an issue. We understand many of our patrons have been frustrated by our closing, but we strongly believe that it is better to err on the side of safety. We are excited to get back to business and welcome our guests and team members back to The Star.”
Additionally, The Star’s strict safety protocols will remain in place. All guests must provide a valid ID and be 21 years old or older. All team members and guests will have their temperature taken at entry and will be required to wear a face mask.
The Star is committed to focusing on cleanliness and sanitization throughout the property. Slot machines and chairs will be routinely disinfected, and guests can request additional cleanings at each slot machine by pressing a service button which will alert a team member to disinfect the machines.
