New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that the state allowed casinos and gaming facilities, among other businesses, to increase their occupancy capacity.
The state's 20 casinos and video-lottery terminal facilities at racetracks were able to go from 25% to 50% capacity on Saturday, May 15, reports the WKBW.
Previously, on April 5 Cuomo had also announced that the curfew was lifted for state casinos, no longer requiring them to close at 11 p.m, this also applied to pool halls, movie theaters, bowling alleys, gyms, and fitness centers.
The capacity at offices increased from 50% to 75%, while gyms outside of New York City increased their capacity from 33% to 50%. On Wednesday, May 19, spectator capacity for outdoor events will increase from 20% to 33%.
