Simplebet announced on Thursday the appointment of Patrick Ramsey to its Board of Directors. With nearly 20 years of experience across the gaming industry, Ramsey currently serves as Non-Executive Director at Aristocrat, which made its first investment into the micro-betting space earlier this year in Simplebet’s latest financing round.
Ramsey joined Aristocrat in 2016 as Chief Digital Officer, overseeing all aspects of the company’s online business, prior to being named to his current role just nine months later. He has held several positions in both land-based casino operations and in casino gaming technology. Ramsey previously served as CEO of Multimedia Games and held a variety of roles for Caesars Entertainment around the United States.
The Co-Founder and CEO of Simplebet Chris Bevilacqua, said: “Pat brings a unique skill set and expertise stemming from his nearly two decades working in various sectors across the gaming industry, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to our Board of Directors. His experience and insight will be critical as Simplebet continues to dictate the future of micro-betting and fan engagement offerings.”
Ramsey commented: “I’ve been impressed with Simplebet as they continue to pioneer micro-betting for U.S. sports, and I’m excited to support their growth and expansion efforts. I believe micro-betting may become the predominant way sports fans bet on U.S. sports and look forward to joining the company that will be powering it.”
Aristocrat participated in Simplebet’s $15 million financing round this past March, bringing the total funding of the company to $50 million. The recent funding is being used to enhance the company’s existing NFL, MLB, and NBA micro-betting products.
