NBC Sports announced Monday the launch of a new brand called NBC Sports Next, which will feature technology, betting and emerging media.
The division will be overseen by NBC Sport’s Digital & Consumer Businesses and will give a privileged space to segments such as digital applications in sports, prediction and gaming resources.
The brand will also bring together products such as SportsEngine, a youth sports club, league and team management platform; and Sports Enterprises, with its portfolio of gaming, betting and content products
Sports Edge, a platform for fantasy sports information and betting-focused tools formerly known as Rotoworld which was rebranded at the start of the year, will also be part of this new division. It offers two subscription plans, one solely focused on betting, and one that incorporates all of the tools the site offers for fantasy sports and betting.
The aggregation of all these products will “bolster innovation and provide a better, more intuitive sports experience,” defines the company.
NBC Sports Next will “unify and streamline” three newly named groups: Betting, Gaming & Emerging Media, Youth & Recreational Sports, and Golf, equipping “more than 30 million players, coaches, athletes, sports administrators and fans” in 40 countries with over 25 sports solution products.
The Betting, Gaming & Emerging Media segment includes sports betting, prediction and gaming resources “for sports and video games connoisseurs,” featuring previously mentioned NBC Sports Edge, as well as NBC Sports Predictor and NBC Sports Audio to offer sports news, analysis, fantasy sports and premium content “to immerse sports fanatics in a whole new way.”
Will McIntosh, who will work as Executive Vice President at NBC Sports Next, said: “NBC Sports Next is where sports and technology intersect to allow for the ultimate immersive experience for all of our customers.”
“We’re proud to bring our top products and teams together under one integrated brand that will serve as a permanent home for opportunities across applications and technologies,” further added McIntosh.
