In celebration to commemorate its 25th anniversary milestone, Mohegan Sun announced last Thursday a lineup of entertainment, deals, giveaways and celebrity appearances to take place throughout the month of October.
The Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment’s flagship property in Connecticut promises a series of events, from “larger-than-life gaming promotions” to headlining concerts in its Mohegan Sun Arena, as part of a “can’t-miss celebration,” according to a press release.
One of the highlights is a special “Collect and Win” promo throughout the month for Momentum loyalty members, where cardholders can earn a swipe at the special 25th anniversary kiosks for a chance to win Free Slot Play prizes and up to $50,000 cash.
Additionally, the brand is offering a $250,000 Anniversary Slot Sweepstakes for loyalists to try their luck at winning their share by playing their favorite slots. High-rolling private blackjack, slot and Baccarat tournaments are set to be hosted for VIP gamers.

“It is a tremendous accomplishment to celebrate 25 years of operation,” said Ray Pineault, Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment CEO. “Throughout the past 25 years, we have emerged as an industry-leader in entertainment, gaming and hospitality and it all started with our incredible flagship destination in southeastern Connecticut.”
The weekend on October 22-24 will see performances from Harry Styles and Blake Shelton, each headlining the Mohegan Sun Arena. Hip-hop legends Run DMC are set to perform in the Wolf Den “for the first time ever,” and celebrities will be present at a VIP party at TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge, Mohegan’s newest hot-spot.
Promotions throughout October will include dining and retail in Comix Roadhouse, Johnny Rockers, Jasper White’s Summer Shack and Such Koya. Shopping discounts will be available at shops including Bluwire, Pasta Vita, Chocolux, Chico’s, Lux Bond Green, Yankee Candle, and more.
Situated on 185 acres along the Thames River in southeastern Connecticut, Mohegan Sun is home to two casinos, 1,600 hotel rooms, two spas, a golf course, over 80 shops, restaurants and bars, as well as three entertainment venues including a 10,000-seat arena.
Resulting from increased visitation, positive gaming trends and removal of COVID-related restrictions on May, Mohegan Sun saw positive results in its operations in its latest quarterly report. MGE posted net revenues amounted to $328.2 million, up from $107.2 million in 2020, a 206.1% increase. Income from operations reached $64.0 million versus a loss from operations of $20.5 million in the prior-year period.
Following sports wagering and online gambling legalization in the state back in May, the tribal operator launched Mohegan Digital in July. “The digital experience will match what we have in the casino,” said Mohegan Digital President Rich Roberts to Yogonet. The iGaming division of the brand is set to become an integral part of CT’s sports betting and online gaming offering, and features a partnership with FanDuel.
