Clarion Gaming announced Tuesday the appointment of former Red Bull executive Jamie Coles to the newly created position of Esports Event Manager.
Coles joins the Clarion Gaming team after working three years in the professional esports events sector, mainly at the “Red Bull Gaming Sphere” in London, where he was involved in over 50 different esports events, including tournaments, activations, competitions, workshops and bootcamps.
In an official press release, Head of Esports William Harding spoke about Coles’ appointment and said: "I am delighted to welcome Jamie whose expertise, knowledge and insight will further strengthen our esports team. Since launching the esports arena at ICE London 2020 our objective has been to help gambling industry professionals deepen their knowledge of esports and in the process benefit from a global phenomenon which is generating annual betting revenues estimated to be worth $13bn and growing”.
"After the lifting of the Covid-enforced restrictions on live events, we brought together sector experts including Escharts, Bayes and payments provider, Skinsback at September's iGB Live! to participate in a practical esports betting and education feature which identified what parts of the esports ecosystem are relevant to the betting market and how the industry can engage with esports fans", Harding continued.
"With a predicted 646 million fans by 2023, esports has all of the credentials necessary to become betting's 'next big thing' and we are finalising our plans for ICE London 2022 to reflect that. Our approach to esports is consistent with Clarion Gaming's commitment to be first to market with new initiatives, in the process exploring and facilitating important business opportunities for the gaming, gambling and betting sectors”, he concluded.
