Encore Boston Harbor, Plainridge Park, and MGM Springfield combined generated a total of $ 95.98 million in revenue for October, breaking the Massachusetts state record of $ 95.74 million set in July.
The state’s revenue figure was an 8% increase for October compared to $ 88 million in September. According to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, the state’s combined management increased 2.6% in a month-over-month comparison.
The new record was mostly driven by Wynn Resorts' Encore, which reached the $60 million mark for the first time and contributed $ 62.8 million for the month, about 65% of the statewide total, a record figure that surpassed July’s $59.7 million record.
Encore made $ 30.58 million on gross gaming revenue (GGR) board games for the month, the second-highest ever. The slot machines won $ 32.2 million, the third-best figure on record for Encore. Additionally, October was the first full month of operation for the WynnBET sports bar in Encore, which opened in mid-September.
MGM Springfield made $ 21.44 million, an increase of more than $ 2 million since September.
Plainridge Park generated $ 11.74 million in October, the lowest revenue figure since February, however, Plainridge has eight consecutive months over $ 11 million.
In October, the state’s casinos received $ 750.1 million in combined management, nearly $ 20 million more than the September total of $ 731.4 million. Encore Boston Harbor in Everett led the way with $ 376.9 million in control for October, followed by MGM Springfield with $ 202.6 million and Plainridge Park, which only offers slots, with $ 170.5 million, reports 6Park News.
