In a recent press release, the authorities of the event highlighted that for the first time, representatives of all gaming verticals in the Dominican Republic gathered in a single venue for GAT Caribe 2021.

The event, which brought together the most important associations of casinos, lotteries, and sports betting on Thursday and Friday of the previous week, concluded with wide recognition from the business operators who visited the Westin Punta Cana Resort & Club.

Sixteen on-site conferences, two remote conferences, and two panels with casino, lottery, and sports betting professionals completed a marathon day in which there was a high level of interest in the topics discussed, allowing attendees to have a historical context of the development of the industry in the Caribbean region and to share the current situation of each sector.

The presence of the leaders of two of the most representative associations of the industry in Colombia, Fecoljuegos and Cornazar, was highly appreciated by their Dominican counterparts, who shared experiences, opinions, and perspectives on the needs and problems of the industry in both countries,” 3A Producciones stated.

The conclusions point to the imperatives that the current moment demands, the digitalization in the face of new gaming regulations, and adjustments to the current regulations in the region, promoting legal gaming hand in hand with the regulator of each country.

Several of the speakers emphasized the importance of achieving a better reputational positioning of the whole gaming sector that pays taxes to the governments, a topic that was also welcomed by the representatives of gaming associations in Colombia, Evert Montero, and Elizabeth Maya, who had a leading role in the whole program of the event.

On the subject of lotteries, the participation of Isidro Tejada, regulatory advisor of Loteka, stood out with his interesting presentation: "History and structure of the lottery games sector in the Dominican Republic". Yamile Gutiérrez, Legal Director of Loteka, was in charge of moderating the panel on the subject of lotteries, in which Luis Marrero and Camilo Páez also participated. Esmeralda Britton presented virtually her vision on the regulation of gaming in Costa Rica.

On the other hand, David Moniz, President of the Dominican Republic Gaming Casinos Association, stated: "Thanks to GAT EXPO for trusting in our country to be the port of entry of such a great event, thanks also to all the sector for contributing with their support, their participation calls us to promote more and more the initiative proposed by Jose Anibal Aguirre and his organizing team".

Ricardo Nadal, President of the National Association of Sports Banks, added: "The result of GAT Caribe has been very satisfactory, it fully met our expectations. It is a project that was born today and should be recurrent every year in the Dominican Republic. It is a very interesting opportunity to share legislation, technology and have an open debate with the regulatory body, which we hope will actively accompany us in future editions."

IGC, local slots, and roulette company, EvenBet Gaming, and DAPS.solutions exhibited their products and services in the Yauya hall.

The academic agenda of Friday, November 26, included a lecture by Juan Guillermo Franco, member of the Board of Directors of BetPlay Colombia, with his conference "From lottery to online", a content of high interest for those who attended. Manuel Jiménez from EvenBet Gaming talked about the attractions of online poker. Ricardo Nadal spoke about the present and future of sports betting in the Dominican Republic.

Meanwhile, Francisco Pérez of Juancito Sport pointed out the priorities of the betting sector in the country. Alejandro Kowalsky and José Aníbal Aguirre discussed one of the trends of the moment: eSports betting. Finally, Ángel and Luciana Beccassino shared in a fun and spontaneous way about the role of gambling in the life of human beings.

José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO of 3A Producciones and GAT Caribe in particular, said: "I am deeply satisfied with the results of this meeting. My words of welcome said it: we have returned more committed, more alive, more grateful, and more eager to continue working for this wonderful industry. Once again we are grateful for the support of our sponsors Juancito Sport, Loteka, Zataca, and Evolution Global. Next year we will have the main fair in March in Cartagena de Indias, then we will be again in Punta Cana in June and in September we will hold GAT Showcase Bogota with a similar format to the one we did this year. Definitely, Gaming & Technology Expo and GAT Caribe are here to return in 2022".
