The Chilean Association of Gaming Casinos (ACCJ for its initials in Spanish) appointed lawyer Mariana Soto Espinosa as president of its Board of Directors, thereby becoming the first woman and professional not linked to the sector to be appointed to this position.
"I face with great enthusiasm this challenge entrusted to me by the Association to head this guild that contributes so much to Chile and to the regions where we operate in", stated Espinosa.
The executive was Chief of Staff to the Minister of Energy between 2007 and 2010 and was later appointed as the first Under Secretary of Energy in history by former President Michelle Bachelet.
In the private sector, she was Vice President of Corporate Affairs of AES Gener —today AES Andes— and Vice President of Sustainability of Wom Chile, a position she held until she was named president of the casino association.
