Atlantic City's Ocean Casino Resort said Wednesday it will build and open a new $4 million entertainment venue, which will include sports betting, expected to debut by the summer.

Construction on the new space, which will also feature a bar, lounge, and gaming offerings is expected to start in March. During construction, there will be one betting window and one kiosk available for sports wagering.

Sports betting will be provided through a partnership with USBookmaking, a subsidiary of Elys Game Technology Corp., if approved by state gaming regulators.

“As Ocean continues to strengthen its position within Atlantic City, we are steadfastly dedicated to property growth and development,” Bill Callahan, Ocean’s interim CEO, said in a press release. “We are excited by the new venue’s central location and the ability to advance our product with an innovative experience for our guests to enjoy. Partnering with USBookmaking allows us to capitalize on their expertise to bolster our land-based wagering product.”

Further information on the brand-new concept, including the name, timeline and design details, will be released later in 2022. This project is part of the previously announced resort reinvestment of more than $75 million over this year, which also included 460 new guest rooms and suites.
