Online gaming technology provider Gaming Innovation Group (GIG) is powering the launch of online casino and sportsbook brand FeniBet in Latvia, the company announced on Tuesday. FeniBet is a new product of GIG’s long-term partner Admirāļu klubs.

Admirāļu klubs, a veteran of land-based gaming in Latvia, is part of the Novomatic AG Group, a heavyweight company in the international market for producers and operators of gaming technologies. As part of its network, Admirāļu klubs operates several renowned land-based gaming venues, placing them prominently in the Latvian market.

Its new online casino and sportsbook FeniBet brand was built with GiG’s front-end framework, the company explains. This solution provides the sportsbook’s players in Latvia with “a personalized online player and better experience,” including a wide selection of the latest games and live sporting events to choose from.

The new launch marks GiG’s third within Latvia, according to a press release on the announcement. This enables the platform and sportsbook provider “to continue to grow its footprint” and maintain a leading position within this regulated market.

“I am proud to announce that we have gone live in Latvia with Admirāļu klubs, another successful land-based operation embracing the online space,” said Richard Brown, CEO at GiG. “It’s always an exciting moment for GiG to power a launch, even more so when it’s part of an operator’s digital transformation, allowing them to expand their operations.”

Brown describes Latvia as an “exciting” market for the company, which has seen “great growth” over the past few years. This new launch, GiG’s third within the region, “further complements” the company’s aim of becoming the regulated market’s “partner of choice.” “I have every confidence that FeniBet is set to be a market-leading casino and sportsbook,” he added.

“The launch of FeniBet casino and sportsbook takes our business to its next stage of growth, further expanding our operations in the digital space,” said Mārtiņš Opmanis, Head of iGaming at Admirāļu Klubs. “We are confident to enter the highly competitive and regulated online gaming market in Latvia with the new platform offering the best of GiG’s features such as personalized customer experience, swift payment processing and wide selection of games.”

The announcement builds upon a previously unveiled signing of a final agreement between GiG and Admirāļu klubs on November 13, 2020, for the provision of GiG’s platform, sportsbook, frontend development and turnkey managed services. The sports and casino offering was initially expected to go live in 2021, for an initial three-year period.

At the time, Admirāļu Klubs announced a commitment to launch online operations amid a “rapid growth since its inception,” which led the brand to now boast many gambling halls in the region, making it a market leader in the Latvian gambling industry. The company’s land-based halls serve a wide variety of visitors in many towns and cities across the country.

“To further drive its footprint in the regulated market, Admirāļu Klubs is now taking their operation to the next level by launching a new digital sports and casino brand,” the business said in 2020. The announcement came as the Latvian iGaming sector saw a double-digit growth of 16% in Q3 of 2020 versus the prior year, proof of a positive trend within the market.
