GAT Expo: "Latin America's gaming meridian has definitely reached Colombia"

GAT Expo concluded last Thursday, March 17, after three days of intense activity. The organizers of the event described it as "the best commercial exhibition of games of luck and chance in Latin America", and reported a very positive balance for 2022.

"With the participation of more than 1,000 people from 25 countries, the growth of the industry and the excellent period that the sector is having in the whole region is evident", they expressed when highlighting the successful event in numbers: "3 days of fair, 14 specialized conferences, 11 live tournaments, an exhibition with 54 stands and a large business round table, are the results of an unprecedented event that puts the industry of the whole region in a very high position", they stated.

As part of the fair, Coljuegos presented figures which show that, after the pandemic, the industry achieved an accelerated reactivation, estimated at 31%, and exceeding gross revenues of more than 45 trillion pesos (more than US$ 11,722 million). Online gaming recorded a growth of 179% between 2019 and 2021. The president of Coljuegos, César Valencia Galiano, specified that in Colombia sports betting represents 74.7% of the total sum, followed by casino and virtual games, with 34.11%, and live casinos representing 11%.

As for in-person gaming, the average net revenue of monthly sales in the last quarter of 2021 reached $170 billion (US$ 44.3 million), with a growth of 11% compared to the same period in 2019.

It was also evident the huge impact of the new generation games, such as esports and electronic sports, which are on their way to being regulated in several jurisdictions", he added, as he expressed his satisfaction with the goals achieved.

Thus, after two years of waiting as a large-format tradeshow, Gaming & Technology Expo concluded an intense agenda of commercial, business, and academic days, in which major international brands involved in land-based and mixed gaming were present, such as Novomatic, R. Franco, Interblock, Merkur Gaming, Alfastreet, Aruze, Spintec, Win Systems, IGT, and Zitro, among others. They were joined by laboratories and online gaming platforms, such as BetConstruct, Pragmatic Play, EGT Interactive, ExeFeed, Digitain, BMM, Mondo Gaming, One Touch, JG, TVBET, LSports, Gameart, Blue Ocean, WorldMatch, Lotery, BetPlay, Altenar, 3 Oaks, Universal Soft, Mozzarbet, Evenbet Gaming, Ezugi, Bet By, 7Mojos, Vibra Gaming, America Simulcast, Cockpit/Jazz Gaming, and Edict Gaming.
