Winners Inc subsidiary VegasWinners —a sports betting content, analysis, research and data provider— announced Tuesday it has received approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Bureau of Licensing as a sports wagering service provider able to refer customers in the state to licensed sportsbooks in return for commission payments.
In an official press release, Andy Scott, CMO of VegasWinners, spoke about this market penetration and said: “Gaining approval to operate in Pennsylvania is a massive statement for our business. The appetite for sports betting in this market is clearly significant and we believe that our handicapping service will resonate well. Being recognized by the PGCB as a legitimate provider of sports betting content is also critical to our wider strategy as we enhance our marketing opportunities”.
Pennsylvania is one of the top sports betting markets in America in terms of revenue. The market has grown rapidly since its launch in November 2018, and it became the third-largest sports wagering market in 2019, a position it still holds.
VegasWinners had received Provisional Registration as a Sports Wagering Service Provider from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Bureau of Licensing in September. The sports gambling affiliate is currently licensed in several states and has applied to operate in additional jurisdictions, as it is the intention of VegasWinners to get licensed in all states that allow online sports gambling.
To date, online sports betting has been legalized in states such as Nevada, New Jersey, Tennessee, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Iowa, Oregon, Indiana, New Hampshire, Michigan, Colorado, Arkansas, Arizona and Washington DC.
Back in April, the company announced the appointments of former 888sport executive Todd Kobrin as President; and former Customer Acquisition Manager at Tabcorp Andy Scott as new Chief Marketing Officer. These appointments were part of the company's expansion strategy across the US.
