Two Station Casinos properties, Texas Station and Fiesta Rancho, have been approved by The North Las Vegas City Council to remain closed through June 4, 2023. Both facilities have been closed since the pandemic. In order to keep gaming licenses, the casinos would have to open for one day each quarter.

Aside from the two shut-down casinos, Station’s Fiesta Henderson has also been closed since March 2020. Its Palms property was kept closed before selling it to the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, who reopened it in April 2022.

Since COVID-19 hit, the Southern Nevada Health District has utilized Texas Station’s parking garage as a testing and vaccination center for two years to date.

Back in March, the Culinary Union filed a lawsuit against Station Casinos alleging multiple violations of the COVID-19 “Right To Return” law, signed by Governor Sisolak in June 2021, which ensures Nevada’s casino, hospitality and travel-related employees laid off due to the pandemic are able to return to their former jobs.

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, 98% of Culinary Union members were laid off and 80% were recruited back to work by the time the lawsuit was filed.
