Interactive gaming and sports betting technology company Elys Game Technology announced Thursday that it signed deals to run its fourth and fifth white label sportsbook in restaurants and bars, both located in Washington D.C. Having signed agreements with both BetDupont and Petworth Wagering, the company will open new sportsbooks at Betdupont in the Dupont Circle Area of Washington, and Entitlement Restaurant and Cigar Lounge, respectively.

For the latter, the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, USBookmaking is expected to provide sports wagering and bookmaking services to manage the sportsbook risk.

BetDupont, situated in the Dupont Circle area of DC, is a chic lounge bar featuring table and cigar service and full-service Mediterranean/American fusion dining experience. The location is heralded as one of Washington’s premiere lounges easily accessible from all areas of D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

Entitlement is a full service neighborhood restaurant lounge in the Petworth district, which serves traditional American food and an array of beverages. If successfully licensed, BetDupont and Entitlement will become the fourth and fifth restaurant and bar in Washington D.C. for patrons to bet using the Elys sportsbook system.

Both agreements have an initial term of three years from the date of issuance of the license with two possible extensions of 2 years each.

In October 2021, Elys launched its small business strategy to place a white label sportsbook in restaurants and bar venues at the Grand Central Restaurant and Sportsbook in the Adams Morgan area of Washington D.C., which became the first D.C. restaurant to open a sportsbook. In February, this property was granted approval from the DC Office of Lottery and Gaming to expand its sports betting operations.

It should be noted that in September 2021, Elys Game Technology and the New York State Restaurant Association (NYSRA) announced the entry into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that expresses a joint interest in promoting and facilitating opportunities for food and beverage establishments to participate in the state’s sports betting industry.

Michele Ciavarella, Elys Executive Chairman, said: “This model puts Elys in the enviable position of being able to scale up rapidly with low incremental installation costs and brings a unique experience to small business entrepreneurs that can leverage their established customer relationships and drive economic opportunities in grass roots businesses.”

“We believe that adding sports wagering within an exciting environment where patrons can enjoy their favorite food and beverages could bring an entirely new vibe to the establishment and could drive ancillary revenue and foster employment opportunities for small businesses. Partnering with Entitlement provides further affirmation of the scalability and flexibility of the Elys retail sportsbook solution and is a key driver in our pathway to profitability and development of long-term shareholder value in Elys Game Technology”, he concluded.
