Gambling giant Kindred Group has signed an agreement with the Swinomish Tribe to launch the Unibet & Swinomish Sportsbook at Swinomish Casino & Lodge in Anacortes, Washington, pending licensure and regulatory approvals. The initial phase of the strategic partnership covers six years, with the possibility of extending the collaboration for an additional five-year term.

Once operational, Washington will mark the seventh state in which Unibet is live with its sportsbook product in the US. "Kindred Group will continue to invest in growing its US operations where market conditions support a sustainable business model," the company stated.

Manuel Stan, SVP of North America Kindred Group, commented: "We are very excited to expand our footprint in the US and to do so together with the Swinomish tribe. The opening of a Sportsbook Lounge at the Swinomish Casino and Lodge will allow us to offer the best-in-class sports betting experience."

Washington lawmakers first legalized sports wagering in 2020, with the Snoqualmie tribal casino becoming the first gaming property in the state to launch the vertical in September 2021. Patrons seeking to wager on sporting events in Washington can only do so in person at a tribal casino, or via mobile while on tribal land.

Earlier this month, Kindred was awarded one of the Career Companies of the Year 2022 awards in Sweden by a unanimous panel of judges. At the beginning of 2022, Kindred was named as one of the country's most attractive employers; and in September, Kindred was ranked fifth out of 173 companies in a survey among "young professionals" regarding their choice of a future employer, the gaming group noted.
