The German Sports Betting Association (DSWV) and the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, underlining their common goal of promoting a regulated and secure sports betting market and the integrity of sports.
The DSWV and IBIA have agreed to work in partnership and coordinate their activities and efforts on betting and related integrity issues, as both associations represent a large number of the same operators.
In their joint projects, the associations will pool their expertise on activities aimed at promoting a viable regulated sports betting market in Germany with high consumer channeling and related consumer, sports and operator integrity protection measures.
In a press release, DSWV President Mathias Dahms stated: “The partnership between the German Sports Betting Association and IBIA is another welcome step forward for the German sports betting industry.”
“With this many years of international experience and expertise in the field of sports integrity, the IBIA will support us in strengthening the regulated market and protecting it from manipulation. We therefore look forward to many joint projects and constructive cooperation,” he added.
Khalid Ali, IBIA’s CEO, also commented: “IBIA recognizes the important work that the DSWV has done over the years in transforming the German regulated sports betting market. That market transformation is ongoing and betting integrity is a key part of that discussion."
"Indeed, the market provides a number of important opportunities and challenges for both of our associations and their respective members. IBIA looks forward to working closely with the DSWV to improve and protect the German sports betting market for consumers, sports and betting operators,” Khalid concluded.
