Events production company Eventus International has added Bangladesh to its SPiCE (Strategic Platform for iGaming Conference & Exhibition) series as they continue to grow in 2023. The team will also be heading to India, Sri Lanka and the Philippines "to once again open doors into the Asia gaming market."
The inaugural SPiCE Bangladesh event will be held November 8-10, 2023 in Chattogram, and will explore and take advantage of the "incredibly exciting opportunities that have yet to be fully utilized in this market," said the organizer.
With the sports betting boom in Bangladesh setting a new revenue record last year, Eventus International claims the jurisdiction is as its ideal time for brands seeking to enter the market. There are currently more than 50 online gaming companies operating in the country, as well as over four million punters in the region.
The increasing popularity of sports such as cricket, football and kabaddi can be attributed to the growth of online sports betting in Bangladesh, says the production company. Combined with the Bangladeshi government making moves to regulate and legalize sports betting and the increasing availability of online betting platforms, this vertical is expected to expand at a rapid pace in the near future.
The SPiCE India edition will be the 4th annual event this year, set to take place March 1-3, 2023. The second SPiCE Series event will be the inaugural SPiCE Sri Lanka in July, followed by the 2nd annual edition of SPiCE Philippines to take place in September.
With all regions of Asia covered, "the SPiCE series is definitely the perfect platform for the Asian iGaming industry to connect," organizers said.
