International Game Technology (IGT) announced Tuesday it will be sharing its global sustainability initiatives with key customers, partners and gaming industry stakeholders at the ICE Consumer Protection Zone, a dedicated area for industry-wide promotion of responsible gaming and safer gambling at the ICE London show, to be held February 7-9 at ExCeL London.

IGT’s global sustainability initiatives are encompassed within its new Sustainable Play campaign, which will be unveiled at ICE London and included thereafter in IGT’s marketing and communications of its continued commitments to 9 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

"Sustainable Play celebrates IGT’s efforts to implement greater sustainability measures through practices that benefit the company, its key stakeholders and the gaming industry," the company said in a statement.

Wendy Montgomery, IGT's SVP of Marketing, Communications and Sustainability, commented: “Sustainable Play represents IGT’s commitment to leading the gaming industry in global sustainability. It celebrates our dedication to our people and planet as we deliver innovation and excellence that is ‘Ahead of the Game’.”

“Valuing and protecting our people, advancing responsibility, supporting our communities and fostering sustainable operations are the key priorities driving Sustainable Play,” she added.

IGT representatives will be present at the ICE Consumer Protection Zone for discussions and to interface with sustainability leaders from across the gaming industry. The company will also reveal its latest products and solutions in stand N3-150 at ExCeL London during the ICE London show.

The news comes on the same day as the company received a 'B' score in climate change from environmental non-profit CDP, recognizing the company for 'demonstrating improved environmental disclosure and performance.' IGT received a higher-than-average score compared to other information technology and software development companies.

Formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project, CDP's B score recognizes IGT for taking coordinated actions on climate issues and represents an improvement from the company's 2021 score. Within CDP's assessment, IGT excelled in several categories, including governance oversight and emission reduction initiatives, notes the company.
