iGaming technology supplier Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) announced it has completed its deal with Casino Time, following a Head of Terms agreement announced on 30 November 2022. The agreement calls for the provision of GiG's Platform, Sportsbook and OMNI channel solution in Ontario.

The deal, which is expected to see the brand go live in H2 this year, marks the fifth operator to be powered by GiG in the region, after the granting of a supplier license by local regulatory body AGCO in July 2022.

Canadian-owned and operated, Casino Time is a joint venture among leading retail operators in Ontario’s Charitable Gaming sector. The company said it is "proud to continue its long-standing partnership with Ontario’s charities, extending its joint fundraising model into the iGaming space for the first time."

Focused on using the best available technology in each key functional area, including player account management, trading and risk management, and automated marketing, GiG’s experience as a technology provider "has proved perfectly placed to complement the land-based gaming brands’ strategic online ambitions, extending from an initial footprint of 10 Ontario locations," the tech company stated.

Having opened in April 2022, Ontario is an attractive proposition for operators looking to access an expanding market that is expected to grow to EUR 2 billion in gross gaming revenue (GGR) over the next three years, according to information supplied by H2 Gambling Data.

Marcel Elfersy, Chief Commercial Officer of GiG, said: A growing presence in Ontario continues to reflect well on the strength of our products and technology in the region. Combined with our commitment to expansion in complex regulated markets globally, we’re demonstrating that we are well positioned to power the needs and aspirations of land-based operators looking to enter the online space.”

D’Arcy Stuart, founder and CEO of Casino Time, added: “We are proud to extend our partnership with Ontario’s charities in iGaming. Casino Time will deliver the personalized service and community experience that our retail customers in Ontario have come to expect, while expanding the product offering into exciting new territory, including Bingo, Slots, Sportsbook and Live Dealer Casino Games.”

In addition to expanding in markets where it already has a presence, GiG is also eyeing new worldwide opportunities. The company recently confirmed its entry to the Swiss market through a deal with an 'established' land-based and digital casino operator in the country. The agreement calls for the provision of GiG's player account management platform (PAM), following a Head of Terms agreement unveiled on January 10, 2023.

'The deal carries extra significance as confirmation of GiG's first entry into the Swiss iGaming marketplace,' the company said in a statement. 'GiG's arrival extends its growing footprint within Europe, as part of a wider commitment to localized specialization in complex regulated markets, worldwide.'
